Master Program for Law Students and Lawyers
19.03.2010.The joint Master Program in Law of the Suffolk University and the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences (ÁJTK) of ELTE, which has run with great success since 2006, has been announced again this year. Applications should be submitted until the 29th of March.
The „LL.M. in US and Global Business Law for International Business Lawyers" will be held in Budapest between 11-13 July 2010, by the Suffolk University Law School, Boston, Massachusetts and the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences (ÁJTK) of ELTE in cooperation. Within the framework of the three-year program, courses can be visited in the form of a two-week summer university organised yearly in Budapest, expectably during the same period for each of the three years. 24 credits should be acquired for obtaining a degree, and 8 credits are available in a summer program.
Organisers expect applications from fifth-year or PhD students and practising lawyers, and a further condition is an advanced level English language certificate. If it is enabled by the scholarship budget of ELTE, applicants to this institution can receive a reduction of tuition fees. Applications will be judged in order of arrival, until 29 March 2010. An oral interview may also be held in addition to the written proposal.
The program comprises the following subjects by years:
- Year 1 (lectures for those who begin the program in 2010)
- U.S. and International Legal Practice
- Commercial Transactions and Contracts in the U.S.
- Corporations and Business Associations in the U.S.
- Years 2 and 3 (Lectures for those who began the program in 2008 or 2009)
- Corporations and Business Associations in the U.S.
- International Development and Project Finance
- The Resolution of Private International Disputes
- Mergers and Acquisitions
The application should contain the following:
- Resume (American type, in English language)
- A copy of the language certificates (an examination in the professional language is an advantage)
- Copy of the diploma
- Recommendation.
